Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans (SACA)

About Us

Suncoast Association of Chinese Americans (SACA) was established in 1982 as a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) charitable organization in the Greater Tampa Bay area, FL.  The purpose of SACA is to provide cultural and social connections among Chinese Americans, and to encourage appreciation of Chinese culture and history for everyone.

SACA is an independent member-based association that is neither affiliated to,nor controlled by,any political, religious, governmental,or other organizations. All of its officers and Board of Directors are volunteers and are not paid in any fashion.

SACA’s activities are overseen by a 11-member Board of Directors who are elected by the membership. Board members serve 3-year terms on a nonpaid volunteer basis. SACA’s activities are funded by dues, proceeds of fundraising events and the generosity of donors and sponsors. Through the dedicated efforts of volunteers, the organization hosts a number of events and activities throughout the year.

All of SACA activities demand tremendous time sacrifice of the volunteers. It also calls for supports and commitments from our local community. Funding of all the activities requires tight budgeting and constituency support. Besides the annual membership fees,SACA is mainly supported by donations from generous members, local small businesses, and large corporations. We appreciate all these supports and donations from you in the past. We would like you,as an individual or a corporation,to continue supporting SACA.

Our Mission

SACA organizes the Chinese American community, helps them fit into the local society, responds to their needs, promotes Chinese culture, supports local Chinese schools, leads young professional and other youth groups, publishes newsletters, helps local law enforcement in crime prevention and investigation, conducts educational seminars, entertainment activities and festival celebrations, receives culture, sports and business delegations from China, and supports other charitable and disaster relief activities.
